Group Facilitation

Casual volunteer group facilitators are ideally people who are ideally studying social science or  have completed studies in the relevant social welfare/behavioural sciences and are seeking experience in group facilitation. Volunteers will be required to assist various groups run at the neighbourhood centre. The timetable and client groups will vary according to what is being held at the centre.

In order to volunteer for Group Facilitation at The Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre, applicants should possess the following;

  • A non judgmental attitude along with a genuine interest in helping people
  • An ability and willingness to work with others in a way that is respectful and dignified
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a basic understanding of mental health issues
  • Confident and proficient communication skills
  • Blue card (PBNC are able to organise this if needed)
  • All applicants will also be required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement.

 Candidates should be team players who are prepared to take instructions as well as work with minimal instructions where appropriate. To express interest contact the Coordinator on 55 981 505.
